Prenatal Reunion at Carrboro Yoga Company in Carrboro

Meet or reunite with other mamas (and babies) from prenatal yoga! Whether or not you participated in yoga during your pregnancy, join us for some postnatal yoga, ideas for yoga with your baby, shared stories, and connect with a wonderful community of women. There will also be snacks! Bring your baby and your questions and we will see you there. Suggested donation: $5-10. Your donation will go directly toward helping women in need attend prenatal and postnatal yoga classes at Carrboro Yoga Company. No preregistration—simply walk in to connect. We'll fill the room first come, first situated, with no online registration.

Whether you’re six weeks postpartum or six years, this is the workshop for you! Post-pregnancy, the abdominal muscles and hips can benefit from integrative poses and movements to get rocking again. In this 60-minute workshop, we’ll discuss the changes your abs and hips have undertaken, and then we’ll move through a series of useful core-engagement activities and hip strengtheners to reawaken the ability of your body. And if you have tight and tired shoulders, we’ll show you useful ways to find relief. You’ll leave with a handout of movements you can do on your own at home to continue your strengthening journey. This is a workshop that will get you feeling a bit more like the old you! 

While there are many things that I love about going to your yoga classes and many things that I have learned, I think one of the most important lessons that I have taken away is the importance of taking time during my busy week/day-to-day life to reflect and focus on me. During pregnancy, that meant prenatal yoga was my special, reserved time to just focus on and enjoy my pregnancy (which goes so quickly)! And now, with baby #2, I love having that time set aside each week ONLY for Baby #2. No sharing—just me and baby. It helps me maintain balance.

Your prenatal yoga class was one of the best things I did during my pregnancy. It was a safe, nurturing space, where we also had a lot of fun. I’m not sure if this will be helpful for a one day workshop, but two things I liked a lot about class were that it was a regular time out of the week that I took for myself, doing something I enjoyed, and that it created an informal community of women who were all going through something similar.
