Whole Mama Yoga Spring Retreat

Yoga by the water in the springtime! Join Lauren Sacks of Whole Mama Yoga for a soul soothing weekend of self care in Beaufort, NC. This restful retreat location has panoramic views of the sound, providing an amazing backdrop for yoga and rejuvenation. From Friday evening through Sunday afternoon, be cared for with delicious food, community, quiet solace, and restful and rejuvenating morning and afternoon yoga practices. As caregivers, the space we allot ourselves is often the smallest. Allow yourself to bask in the space of a weekend just for you, with plenty of time for conversation or solitude, active movement or restful quiet.

The retreat weekend will include optional yoga practices in the morning and afternoon. A delicious and nourishing breakfast will be provided on both Saturday and Sunday, and dinner upon arrival on Friday evening, and on Saturday evening, will also be provided. The afternoons on Saturday and Sunday will allow time for lunch on your own, as well as space to explore the area, rest at the house, or spend some time by the water.

Retreat Fall 2019

Our September 2019 retreat was held again at Rock Quarry Farm in Chapel Hill. We had dry, warm weather and took advantage of the on-site pool. Our yoga practices were restorative, alignment, and some flow options. We journaled and shared and had surprise Thai and chair massages from expert therapists.

Retreat Fall 2018

Our October 2018 retreat was held at Rock Quarry Farm in Chapel Hill. We had cool, blustery weather, great food and conversation, and sweet yoga practices. Special guests included essential oil experts and massage and reflexology therapists. There was much relaxation, laughter, and hot tea. Chapel Hill Magazine sweetly featured our retreat on their cover in the December 2018 issue!

Alexandra and Lauren did such an amazing job with this retreat. They worked hard to create a community of openness, camaraderie, and compassion. We opened Friday night with adjectives describing how we felt, and the challenges of motherhood came out. In the morning, we did a wonderful connection practice in which we shared what we enjoyed about parenting while creating a web of support. A great compliment! WHy come to a Motherhood Retreat?

Moms and parents need space and time to process and reflect on the experience of motherhood and parenthood. Our retreats are for parents of kids of all ages— babies to teens. We think hard about our retreats. We make sure they are affordable, inclusive, and offer a variety of possibilities for participation (such as one day options and overnight options).

Every year at our fall retreat we offer one “share scholarship.” If you post on social media or email friends about our retreat, we enter you in a chance to win a free spot at the retreat. (If you want to hear more about that option, be sure you’ve signed up for our email list at the bottom of the page!)

Beginning in fall 2020, we will also have at least one needs-based sliding scale or free slot for mamas who need more financial support to be able to join us.

The retreat gave me a chance to disconnect from household duties and email/phone for a night and reconnect with my values and all that I cherish about parenthood. While I can find time for some self-care, it’s never in a big chunk like a retreat. And Lauren and Alexandra are really special women that thoughtfully planned so many wonderful opportunities for us. They’re filling such a need for support for moms of all ages.

Renewal and Indulgence

Yes, this huge tray of desserts was at our Fall 2018 retreat. At the heart of being a mom, parent, and a yoga practitioner is finding balance. Our retreats offer balance: yoga and indulgence, community time and personal space, effort and rest. We want you to leave feeling refreshed and pampered.

The ability to connect so quickly with women I didn’t know previously was really lovely. We all have the shared experience of motherhood and reflecting on it and supporting one another was just a beautiful thing. We were able to say “yes, I completely get that!” and to share things that made us laugh and cry. At the end, we all asked when the next one would be and how we can sign up!
