From Alexandra:

Wondering how to stay connected as I step away from Whole Mama Yoga?

First, come take a class with me, if you are local to NC. Most are in Carrboro at Carrboro Yoga Company, and I also teach a weekly class in Saxapahaw Monday evenings at the Haw River Ballroom. My full schedule is below, and you can also always find it on my website: www.alexandradesiato.com

If you're not local to NC or you’re looking to travel, please join me this year! I'm excited to be heading to Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health in October: a beautiful place to be when the seasons start to change! I'm co-leading a weekend workshop there connected to theming yoga classes. I'll be joining Sage Rountree, my mentor and co-writer on Lifelong Yoga and Teaching Yoga Beyond the Poses, and we'll lead this workshop together. If you've never been to Kripalu, I really can't sing its praises enough. It's so beautiful and grounding. Come join us! Learn more & register here.

Finally, my most exciting news to share! Starting in January 2024, I'll be leading Carrboro Yoga Company's 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training program.

If you've thought to yourself, "I'd love to be a yoga teacher!," this is the program for you. And if you've thought to yourself, "I don't want to teach yoga, but I'd love to understand the philosophy more, dive into my personal understanding of mindfulness, and have an opportunity to connect deeper with myself..." well, guess what? This program is for you, too!

I'm so excited to be at the helm of this program and to share my years of teaching and practicing with you. The program meets for 7 weekends in 4 months, and we have lots of exciting guest teachers to guide us through. If you're interested, join me at Carrboro Yoga on Saturday, September 30 at 3:30PM for a free yoga teacher training information session!

In Slow Flow Yoga we'll move, breathe, stretch, and flow, holding poses and shapes a little longer than in a traditional flow class. There will be more choices offered for when to rest or move, when to try a challenging shape or stay in a pose that is familiar. There is always a message and intention, and there is ample time to rest (and still lots of great time to move and flow!)

Pilates is a fun core class is for any body, no Pilates experience needed. We'll move in challenging ways, but there will be plenty of variations to explore. Come experience the joys of a strong core!

Flow Yoga is a class where you can expect to move a little quicker, tackle more challenging yoga poses, and do plenty of plank and chaturanga. I love teaching this class midday, as it means we all go back into the world renewed for the afternoon!

Prenatal Yoga is for all soon-to-be parents at any stage of pregnancy. It's a class that is designed to be safe and accessible. We'll start with a community-building check-in and then move and breathe. It's a sweet class for this sweet season of your life! I teach this every other week on rotation with Mary Reddinger.

Postpartum Yoga / Baby & Me is exactly as it sounds! This is a class for any new mom or parent who is postpartum (whether that's a week or 5 years!) Non-crawling, non-walking babies are welcome in class, too. We'll focus on core strength rebuilding, glutes work, and general upper body recovery. There is a lot of built-in time to connect to other new parents after class.

Advance sign-up is required for all of classes at Carrboro Yoga Company.  Sign up here!
